PORTA is a lighting fixture inspired by the Northern Lights. By rotating and illuminating uneven, organic, transparent glass formed by hot work, it projects unexpected reflections and prisms on the wall surface that cannot be imagined on the drawing. By changing the shape of the rotating glass, the viewer can enjoy the changing nuances of light. The white glass shade is cast glass using the Pâte de verre technique and is formed by powdered glass. The fluid pattern that is naturally created when the glass melts in the kiln and flows into the mold produces a marble-like texture.
